Life is so short but it seems so long...

Buy these stupendously cool and useful pieces of art for very cheap here: Mammalia Etsy Page

I'm going up again. Goin' up to go down again

The Hideout. Great, out of the way place. Lots of history.
Photo found on
Robert Loerzel's flickr account. Sarah, thanks for meeting me there and getting the tickets and having mediocre mexican food after and driving me home. That was real nice and I had a great time talking to you!

Magnolia Electric Co. @ The Hideout. Photo found on Robert Loerzel's flickr account.

Sally Timms (Mekons, Wee Hairy Beasties, and collaboration with Kathy Acker RIP (my favorite writer hands down!). Photo found on Robert Loerzel's flickr account.

Another etsy wallet. They are selling pretty good and it makes me happy that they are really popular. I try to make the all unique and keep them extremely affordable.

This is a blank art sketch journal that I painted on the cover. It's real nice.
People seem to like owls and anthropomorphizing seems to be a big hit!
Check it out. It's cheap and would make a great gift.

Well I knew that I shouldn't go to a thrift store since I have no dollars but... finding this shirt with a 90 cent tag on it made me giddy... almost as good as "I Lava Your Ash". Almost!

Walking to The Hideout. West on Elston I believe. Nice night. Good cool easy summer sunset over the water. It was a nice break from the predominant industrial theme.

Feeling calm on a bridge over some water.

Crazy Thursday

Hidden tiger in the city.

Chicago River

We had some pints. Bob did some mind-meld with the DJ and busted out some fine dance moves later in the evening. Will seemed in high spirits until he got a ticket. Another ticket. Check out his art .

Outside of Delilah's irritating the regulars.

Hugggggggs! Bob and I smoking outside of Delilah's.

Will at Weston's place. End of the evening. Thanks Weston!

We had a long night.

Jesus talk in the am.

Total New Orleans style beverage consumption found on the street.

I met Will and Bob outside of the Double Door to see Chico Fellini. Good band. I'm sorry they had to open up for such a shitty band (Pictures of Them). It was a night of adventure: Double Door, Rose's Lounge, Delilah's, Rodan, Estelle's, and then wrapping it up at Weston's house.

Neighborhood Walks

This globe was smashed to smithereens. Australia was still kind of intact. Kind of.

A slightly better photo of the lab.

24-4-11 on the corner doing things

When you don't have a job and can't bear to spend another moment sending out application materials to employers that aren't calling you back... go to the beach.

I also found a song that someone had accidentally, mistakenly, ridiculously dropped on the sidewalk. It's tight!

A Slow Weekend

I found this wonderful line drawing of a 70's style laboratory on a delivery truck while taking a walk in the Old Irving Park area.
It's hard to make out the detail with my cell phone photo but it's the best I could do.

The Luvabulls

This is hanging at a chinese restaurant on California and Irving Park.
I couldn't believe it so I had to take a photo.

Employers need to call me back...

View from the mysterious Brown Line at Irving Park.

Here is the real Lost Ogle. I'm sure an OKC "news" source has room for one more...

Outside of the Edgewater Lounge.
I went there after eating at Fianco in Wrigleyville/Edgewater.
I'm tired of talking about nebulous neighborhoods that no one can agree upon.

Cumstruction workers (thanks Billy!). I find polaroids of all kinds of things that were probably taken by construction workers but this is a new one for me. I found it lodged in a bush near Addison and Kedzie. Of course I stopped to pluck it from the little tree!

More claws. They are everywhere!

When I think of manicured nails I think of certain scenes in porn movies
and this does not disappoint!

I took this picture from outside of an overpriced Wicker Park resale shop. It really is a beat up set of stuffed (taxidermy would be too kind here) squirrels but... I think the pic looks like a pool of vomit beneath a child mannequin's feet. And that really trumps what I was trying to capture. Thank you old camera phone!

I had a kids' meal at Subway. A three inch sandwich, a little baggie of pre-cut apples, a chocolate milk and some rad sunglasses. They have a little tiny Subway sticker (like the stickers that come with model kits). The sunglasses broke and stabbed me in my eye while I was putting them on.
